The High School to Post-Secondary Transition at Vancouver Island University
An event for high school counsellors and teachers
Join us for a day of learning about the supports available to students transitioning from high school to university. While we'll focus on the VIU experience, much of the information we'll share can help your students who plan to go to other post-secondary schools.
When and where
Date: February 5, 2024
Time: 8:30 – 11:30 with optional sessions 1:00 pm– 2:30 pm
Place: Nanaimo VIU campus
What to expect
You'll experience the campus with its stunning views, and you'll learn what we do at VIU to support your students. You'll attend sessions about programs, courses and services for students at VIU. You can also attend sessions with general information about supporting students.
You'll get valuable information on how students can be competitive applicants for limited entry programs. You'll have a chance to explore VIU's wellness options. And you'll get tips on how to get the most out of the VIU website.
We provide lunch, and we'll give you resources you can use in your work with students and parents.
